Escaping Pirates was a fun and intense Cinderella retelling that I thoroughly enjoyed reading recently. I was lucky enough to be part of the ARC team and I'd highly recommend reading this book. It's book 4 in Mary Mecham's Legends of Neverland series. Having read the other books in the series, I would suggest starting at book 1, Becoming Hook. I think you can still understand Escaping Pirates well enough without the context of the earlier books, but there are significant spoilers included if you do read it out of order.
I haven't caught up with all of Mary Mecham's backlist yet, but I've loved every book of hers so far.
